DAILY THOUGHT: There is a fine line between healthy eating and being overly restrictive with calories and food. Some people go to the extent of abolishing major food groups or severely limiting calories in attempt to achieve their goals nutritionally. This can cause more harm than good and ultimately end up in binge eating, anorexia or nutritional deficiencies. When you are too restrictive and overly concerned with eating, you lose the pleasure that we should have when sitting down for a meal or snack. It is no coincidence that eating can provoke feelings of pleasure. We have to realize that this is natural and the way it was intended. If eating didn’t feel great and taste delicious, the human life span would be short lived. We are suppose to enjoy foods; even our favorite foods that are high in calories and fat. We have an array of taste buds for a reason. It is learning to find that healthy balance and moderation. Like Julia Child once said, “Everything in moderation, including moderation.” Give yourself a break and enjoy a wide range of healthy foods while still occasionally treating yourself. We were all made to look differently. Our goal when eating should be optimal health, not who can be the smallest. For some, achieving optimal health results in their typical small frame or a healthy weight that is supportive of a larger frame. We are all different. Thank you for reading. Have an awesome day guys!
